We pioneer novel methodologies and technologies, including advanced mass spectrometry for trace gas analysis, a broad suite of water and gas geochemistry, state-of-the-art electron microscopy, high pressure samplers and incubations, environmental DNA and 'omics approaches. These cutting-edge tools enable breakthroughs such as understanding biogeochemical cycles, cost-effective biodiveristy characterization of rapidly changing ocean regions like the Arctic, and exploring the deep-sea hot springs that provide critical energy supplies and building blocks for life.

Our innovative research informs practical conservation efforts, such as developing scalable methods to examine the neurological controls on coral spawning events, which have the potential to enhance coral reef restoration and resilience.
